Fantasy Week 8 (Dec. 15-21)

Teams with four games: Atlanta, Boston, Charlotte, Chicago, Dallas, Denver, Golden State, Indiana, L.A. Clippers, Milwaukee, New Jersey, New York, Sacramento, Toronto, Washington

Teams with three games: Cleveland, Detroit, Houston, L.A. Lakers, Miami, Minnesota, New Orleans, Oklahoma City, Philadelphia, Phoenix, San Antonio

Teams with two games: Memphis, Portland

*All stats heading into play Saturday

Atlanta Hawks
Schedule: Dec. 15 vs. CHA; Dec. 17 vs. BOS; Dec. 19 vs. GS; Dec. 21 vs. DET
Injury Report: Speedy Claxton (hamstring/out indefinitely); Claxton is nowhere near making a Fantasy impact.
Slam Dunk: Joe Johnson, Josh Smith, Mike Bibby, Al Horford
Tough Call: Marvin Williams should start this week in any cumulative-scoring format. Most of his matchups this week are against tough defensive teams, but the one game against Golden State -- everyone's favorite Fantasy opponent -- should make up for it. Stay away from lesser options like Maurice Evans and Ronald Murray for now. They remain too spotty to trust at this point.
One Week Boom: Marvin Williams

Boston Celtics
Schedule: Dec. 15 vs. UTA; Dec. 17 @ ATL; Dec. 19 vs. CHI; Dec. 21 vs. NY
Injury Report: None.
Slam Dunk: Kevin Garnett, Paul Pierce, Ray Allen
Tough Call: The big three have not been producing at the level Fantasy owners would like, but it's not to the point that they should not be starting in four-game weeks. The matchup against the Fantasy-friendly Knicks makes most of the C's Fantasy options worth starting in any Fantasy format this week. The defending champs scored 110 points in their only meeting with the Knickerbockers this season and five players scored in double figures. Kevin Garnett was not available for that game. Rajon Rondo and Kendrick Perkins are excellent starts at their respective positions this week in any format. Rondo is emerging into an elite Fantasy guard and Perkins is averaging 11.3 points and 9.7 rebounds in December.
One Week Boom: Rajon Rondo

Charlotte Bobcats
Schedule: Dec. 15 at ATL; Dec. 16 vs. CHI; Dec. 19 at MEM; Dec. 20 vs. GS
Injury Report: Gerald Wallace (personal/day-to-day); Wallace left the team due to his grandmother's passing away and was expected back over the weekend. He should be a safe play.
Slam Dunk: Gerald Wallace
Tough Call: The recent trade that brought Raja Bell and Boris Diaw in from Phoenix will shake things up a little. Fantasy owners are advised to add both players as they are expected to see a good amount of playing time with their new team, but it is not a bad idea to give them this week to see how they fit in exactly before activating them. Emeka Okafor began to turn his slow start around this week with a 27-and-17 effort at Dallas, but he is not a lock to start in all leagues just yet. However, a four-game slate that includes a game against the Warriors (111.1 points against) and Bulls (101.0 points against) makes him worth starting in any format. D.J. Augustin has been playing well since being inserted into the starting lineup alongside Raymond Felton. Augustin is the better play right now, but Felton is a solid play as a No. 3 or 4 guard in leagues of 12-plus teams due to the favorable matchups this week.
One Week Boom: Emeka Okafor

Top 10 Players Added

1. Jose Juan Barea, G, Mavericks 30
2. Boris Diaw, F, Bobcats 26
3. Juan Dixon, G, Wizards 22

5. Matt Bonner, C, Spurs 15
6. Larry Hughes, G, Bulls 14
7. Raja Bell, G, Bobcats 14
8. Kevin Love, F, Timberwolves 11
9. Anderson Varejao, C, Cavaliers 10
10. Mike James, G, Wizards 10

Chicago Bulls
Schedule: Dec. 16 at CHA; Dec. 17 vs. LAC; Dec. 19 at BOS; Dec. 20 vs. UTA
Injury Report: Kirk Hinrich (thumb/out until February).
Slam Dunk: Derrick Rose, Ben Gordon
Tough Call: Luol Deng is looking like his old self again, averaging a 18-4-3 line over his last five games. He should start in any league for this four-game week. Drew Gooden is averaging a double-double (11.0 points, 10.6 rebounds) over his last five games and should also start, especially in leagues where he is eligible at center. Larry Hughes has been in double figures regularly this season and that should add up to a solid week over four games despite none of the matchups jumping out as particularly favorable. Andres Nocioni continues to be erratic due to his role off the bench. He can score 15-20 points one night and five the next. For that reason, leave him for leagues of more than 12 teams. Leave Joakim Noah and Tyrus Thomas reserved.
One Week Boom: Luol Deng

Cleveland Cavaliers
Schedule: Dec. 17 at MIN; Dec. 19 at DEN; Dec. 21 at OKC
Injury Report: Zydrunas Ilgauskas (ankle/day-to-day); Daniel Gibson (toe/out until late December); Ilgauskas' situation is tricky. He has been diagnosed with a Grade II ankle sprain, which could keep him out as long as 2-4 weeks. The team still lists him as day-to-day. With the Cavs playing just three games in the upcoming scoring period, he is a severe injury risk. Gibson will not be back this week.
Slam Dunk: LeBron James
Tough Call: Mo Williams is averaging a 15-4-3 line over his last five games. Weigh your options in cumulative-scoring formats due to the three-game week. He will offer around 45 points, 12-15 assists, 10-12 rebounds with around 3-4 three pointers and a couple of steals. If you have someone who can guarantee better production than that, go for it. Delonte West is a sit for most formats this week. He is averaging a 10-4-2 line over his last five games. Anderson Varejao is a tricky play this week because Ilgauskas' situation is not clear. He has had back-to-back solid games due to the injury of Big Z, but could easily go back to around nine points and five boards per game if Ilgauskas returns.
One Week Bust: Delonte West

Dallas Mavericks
Schedule: Dec. 15 vs. DEN; Dec. 17 at TOR; Dec. 19 at NJ; Dec. 21 at WAS
Injury Report: Josh Howard (ankle/out indefinitely); Jerry Stackhouse (heel/out indefinitely); Howard has been in a walking boot this week and there is no indication that he will be able to return this week. He is likely out for at least one more week. Stackhouse is not likely to play for the Mavs again and is seeking a trade.
Slam Dunk: Dirk Nowitzki, Jason Kidd, Jason Terry
Tough Call: Jose Juan Barea has been a nice surprise for the Mavs and has been the player to step up offensively to fill the void left by Josh Howard. While we do not recommend investing much on him off the waiver wire because he will return to being a Fantasy nobody once Howard gets back, it appears he could be useful for one more week -- especially when you consider the Mavs' favorable matchups this week against New Jersey (103.2 points against) and Washington (103.5 points against). Stay away from Erick Dampier even as a No. 2 center if at all possible.
One Week Boom: Jose Juan Barea

Denver Nuggets
Schedule: Dec. 15 at DAL; Dec. 16 at HOU; Dec. 19 vs. CLE; Dec. 20 at PHO
Injury Report: Kenyon Martin (wrist/day-to-day); K-Mart was expected back over the weekend and for that reason Fantasy owners should count on him for the upcoming scoring period.
Slam Dunk: Carmelo Anthony, Chauncey Billups
Tough Call: Nene should start in most cumulative-scoring formats due to the four-game week. His 14.6 points per game, 7.3 rebounds and 1.6 blocks per game make him a solid No. 2 center in average-based leagues as well. Three of the four matchups this week are against teams that give up fewer than 100 points per game. The Cavaliers are the only team in the league that allows under 90 points per game. To expect a big week from scoring-only J.R. Smith would be a stretch.
One Week Bust: J.R. Smith

Detroit Pistons
Schedule: Dec. 17 vs. WAS; Dec. 19 vs. UTA; Dec. 21 at ATL
Injury Report: None.
Slam Dunk: Allen Iverson
Tough Call: Rodney Stuckey has responded well to being inserted into the starting lineup and is a solid play right now in average-based leagues, especially considering the favorable matchup against Washington to start the week. He is even a decent play in larger cumulative formats as a No. 3 or 4 guard. Tayshaun Prince should continue to start in average-based leagues where his 13-8-2 line over the last week is helpful. In cumulative formats, he is a candidate to reserve this week. The same goes for Rasheed Wallace. He is mostly useful in leagues where he is eligible at center, but has not been putting up good numbers over the last week-plus.
One Week Bust: Rasheed Wallace

5. Raptors NJ, DAL, @OKC, SA

Golden State Warriors
Schedule: Dec. 15 vs. ORL; Dec. 17 at IND; Dec. 19 at ATL; Dec. 20 at CHA
Injury Report: Stephen Jackson (hand/day-to-day); Corey Maggette (hamstring/out until late December); Monta Ellis (ankle, suspension/out until late December); Ronny Turiaf (flu/day-to-day); Brandan Wright (flu/day-to-day); Jackson has been able to play through his injury, but it has had a negative effect on his shot and has limited his production this week. It is not a bad idea in smaller leagues to give him a week to get back to full strength. There is also the possibility that the team could shut him down on short notice in order to let his injury heal. Maggette will not be available this week. Ellis is back to practice, but will not be making his regular season debut until Dec. 26 against Boston at the earliest. Also, C.J. Watson will miss one game in the upcoming scoring period to attend a funeral. He will not be available for the Dec. 17 game at Indiana. Take that into account.
Slam Dunk: Andris Biedrins, Jamal Crawford
Tough Call: As mentioned above, Watson will not be around for a full week, but he has been in double figures in each of the last three games with 19 and 17 points in his last two games. With Maggette out, he could be in line to continue that type of production this week along with Anthony Morrow and Kelenna Azubuike. They are stopgap possibilities for deeper formats.
One Week Boom: Anthony Morrow, Kelenna Azubuike

Houston Rockets
Schedule: Dec. 16 vs. DEN; Dec. 13 vs. SAC; Dec. 20 at MIN
Injury Report: Ron Artest (ankle/day-to-day); The early return of Tracy McGrady should allow the team to let him rest until his ankle injury gets back to 100 percent. Considering the team's recent history with injuries, they will want to keep their big three as fresh as possible for a run in the playoffs. He could return on Monday, but he could also miss two or three more games. Consider him a big risk unless the Rockets declare him ready to go before lineups are due.
Slam Dunk: Yao Ming, Tracy McGrady
Tough Call: Luis Scola and Rafer Alston were helpful this past week due to a favorable four-game slate, but now should be stashed in cumulative formats outside of leagues with more than 12 teams. In average-based leagues, each has done enough recently to be considered useful options as at least a No. 4 at their respective positions. Shane Battier may get more playing time with Artest out, but the fact that he could also return soon makes him too risky to play. Aaron Brooks and Luther Head return to being unusable in most Fantasy leagues with the return of McGrady.
One Week Bust: Luis Scola, Rafer Alston

Indiana Pacers
Schedule: Dec. 15 at WAS; Dec. 17 vs. GS; Dec. 19 vs. LAC; Dec. 20 at PHI
Injury Report: Mike Dunleavy (knee/out indefinitely); Dunleavy has not yet returned to practice and he will need at least a week of full-contact workouts before he can suit up again. That makes his return this week highly unlikely.
Slam Dunk: Danny Granger
Tough Calls: The Pacers have one of the more favorable slates in the league for Fantasy owners this week thanks to matchups against Golden State (111.1 points against), Washington (103.5 points against) and the L.A. Clippers (99.9 points against). Troy Murphy has been doing well enough to play in any league and is a clear start in any format. With Dunleavy out this week again, Marquis Daniels remains a strong play. T.J. Ford should also be active in most leagues. Jeff Foster, Rasho Nesterovic and Jarrett Jack are still a reach despite the matchups.
One Week Boom: Troy Murphy, Marquis Daniels, T.J. Ford

Los Angeles Clippers
Schedule: Dec. 16 at OKC; Dec. 17 at CHI; Dec. 19 at IND; Dec. 20 at MIL
Injury Report: Chris Kaman (foot/out until late December); Ricky Davis (knee/day-to-day); Kaman is hoping to return sometime around Christmas and says that he likely will not be in game shape when he does come back. Reserve him for at least one more week. Marcus Camby will continue to benefit from his absence.
Slam Dunk: Zach Randolph, Baron Davis, Marcus Camby
Tough Call: The Clippers have a favorable four-game slate that includes matchups against the Thunder (103.3 points against), Bulls (101.0 points against), Pacers (102.8 points against) and Bucks (99.4 points against). There should be a lot of scoring to go around. That makes Al Thornton a good start in most formats and a fringe option like Eric Gordon worth taking a risk on in larger formats.
One Week Boom: Al Thornton

Los Angeles Lakers
Schedule: Dec. 16 vs. NY; Dec. 19 at MIA; Dec. 20 at ORL
Injury Report: None.
Slam Dunk: Kobe Bryant, Pau Gasol, Andrew Bynum
Tough Call: Right now, it is all about the big three for the Lakers. Especially in a three-game week, none of their other options are worth considering as solid Fantasy starts. Derek Fisher has some appeal in larger average-based leagues because the game against New York should be high-scoring. Lamar Odom and Trevor Ariza are too spotty to trust right now. Luke Walton has replaced Vladimir Radmanovic in the starting lineup for now, but he is not a recommended option.
One Week Bust: Derek Fisher, Lamar Odom, Trevor Ariza

Memphis Grizzlies
Schedule: Dec. 16 vs. NO; Dec. 19 vs. CHA
Injury Report: None
Slam Dunk: None
Tough Call: Even Rudy Gay and O.J. Mayo are tough calls this week -- in any format. The Grizzlies have just two games this week, making any of their options extremely risky for cumulative-scoring leagues. Also, their matchups are against two teams that rank among the top-six defensive teams in the league. The Hornets rank third, allowing just 92.4 points per game. The Bobcats have made significant defensive improvements this season under new coach Larry Brown and are allowing just 93.9 points per game. Hakim Warrick has seen a recent surge in his production, but while he is worth adding off the waiver wire is not worth starting this week. Marc Gasol is a useful No. 2 center, but is a recommended sit this week. Do not even think about starting underachieving Mike Conley.
One Week Bust: Rudy Gay, O.J. Mayo

Miami Heat
Schedule: Dec. 15 vs. MIL; Dec. 19 vs. LAL; Dec. 20 at NJ
Injury Report: Michael Beasley (flu/day-to-day); Beasley should be available for the team's three games this week.
Slam Dunk: Dwyane Wade
Tough Call: Shawn Marion has not been the Fantasy stud he has been in the past this season, but he is averaging a 15-9-2-2-1 line over his last five contests and could be of use in cumulative formats even with the three-game slate. In average-based leagues, he's close to being a must-start again. Beasley had been struggling a bit even before getting hit with the flu bug and it is not a bad idea to give him this shortened week off and hope he gets back on track before activating him again. Udonis Haslem is a good play in average-based leagues, but is a recommended sit in most cumulative formats this week. In average-based leagues, his matchups against the Bucks (99.4 points against) and Nets (103.2 points against) should provide him with a chance for a double-double or two this week. Mario Chalmers is a solid play in average-based leagues right now, but should be reserved in cumulative formats due to the shortened week.
One Week Bust: Michael Beasley

Milwaukee Bucks
Schedule: Dec. 15 at MIA; Dec. 17 at PHI; Dec. 19 at NY; Dec. 20 vs. LAC
Injury Report: Charlie Bell (ankle, knee/out indefinitely); With Michael Redd back, does it really matter when Bell returns? No. The answer is No.
Slam Dunk: Richard Jefferson, Michael Redd, Andrew Bogut
Tough Call: The power forward situation in Milwaukee continues to be a bit of a headache for Fantasy owners, but Charlie Villanueva finally appears to have taken a hold of the situation. He is averaging 15.2 points and 7.6 rebounds over his last five games. Of course, that is with him scoring 20 points one night and less than 10 then next. Over the course of a four-game week, that type of production should even out. Luc Richard Mbah a Moute is not producing lately and should be reserved. With Redd back in the mix, Ramon Sessions has faded away as was anticipated. Luke Ridnour has maintained decent value as a low-end starter for deeper formats, averaging 11.0 points and 7.0 assists over his last five games.
One Week Boom: Charlie Villanueva

Minnesota Timberwolves
Schedule: Dec. 15 at SAC; Dec. 17 vs. CLE; Dec. 20 vs. HOU
Injury Report: Corey Brewer (knee/out for the season); No Fantasy relevance.
Slam Dunk: Al Jefferson
Tough Call: Randy Foye is averaging 19.0 points, 5.2 assists and 2.6 rebounds over his last five games and is worth using even with the shortened week in cumulative formats. Kevin Love is averaging 9.0 points and 11.8 rebounds over his last five games and is a decent play in average-based formats as a No. 4 forward, but is a low-end starter in cumulative leagues. Mike Miller is expected to be used more under new coach Kevin McHale, but Fantasy owners should let that prove true this week in the shortened week before activating him. Ryan Gomes has scored 10-plus points in three straight games and is getting 30-plus minutes per game. He has some low-end appeal in larger average-based leagues this week. Leave Rashad McCants, Sebastian Telfair and Craig Smith reserved in all leagues this week.
One Week Boom: Randy Foye

New Jersey Nets
Schedule: Dec. 15 at TOR; Dec. 17 vs. UTA; Dec. 19 vs. DAL; Dec. 20 vs. MIA
Injury Report: None.
Slam Dunk: Vince Carter, Devin Harris
Tough Call: Josh Boone is back, but Brook Lopez got a strong grip of the starting job while he was out injured and he has some upside as a No. 2 center for larger leagues. He is averaging just 8.2 points and 8.8 rebounds over his last five contests, but should provide some decent totals over the course of a four-game week and can be considered a decent play for larger cumulative leagues. Yi Jianlian has scored 12-plus points in four straight contests and is averaging 6.2 rebounds over his last five games. Consider him a decent play as a No. 3 or 4 forward in larger leagues this week.
One Week Boom: Yi Jianlian

New Orleans Hornets
Schedule: Dec. 16 at MEM; Dec. 17 vs. SA; Dec. 20 vs. SAC
Injury Report: Tyson Chandler (neck/day-to-day); He had a stiff neck at shootaround Friday and missed the game, but he should be alright for the team's upcoming three-game slate in Week 8.
Slam Dunk: Chris Paul, David West
Tough Call: Chandler, stiff neck aside, has not been putting up the numbers Fantasy owners have come to expect from him over the last two seasons. He did have a double-double his last time out against Charlotte, but is averaging just 8.5 points and 7.8 rebounds over his last four games. Fantasy owners in leagues of 12-plus teams should consider giving him a week off until he can prove both healthy and productive. Peja Stojakovic is coming off a two-point clunker in Boston on Friday, but had scored at least 17 points in his previous five games. He should be a solid play even in cumulative formats this week. Leave James Posey reserved in all leagues.
One Week Bust: Tyson Chandler

New York Knicks
Schedule: Dec. 15 at PHO; Dec. 16 at LAL; Dec. 19 vs. MIL; Dec. 21 at BOS
Injury Report: David Lee (back/day-to-day); Nate Robinson (groin/day-to-day); Both players were expected back this weekend and should be safe starts for the upcoming scoring period.
Slam Dunk: Al Harrington, Chris Duhon, David Lee
Tough Call: Wilson Chandler is averaging over 15 points, six rebounds and two assists over the last five games and should be a fine start in any format for this four-game scoring period. Nate Robinson has been declared the starting shooting guard for the foreseeable future, moving Quentin Richardson back to the bench. The move came after it was announced this week that Cuttino Mobley would retire due to his heart condition. Robinson has been less than 100 percent due to a groin injury, though, and should be treated as a low-end option until he can prove healthy and productive again. Tim Thomas is coming off a 26-point performance and has had some good outputs since joining the Knicks, but he had been held under eight points in his previous four games. View him as a possible stopgap for leagues of more than 12 teams, but he is best stashed as a reserve until he can prove consistent again.
One Week Boom: Wilson Chandler

Oklahoma City Thunder
Schedule: Dec. 16 vs. LAC; Dec. 19 vs. TOR; Dec. 21 vs. CLE
Injury Report: Chris Wilcox (finger/out until late December); Wilcox has not returned to practice and will not return to game action this week.
Slam Dunk: Kevin Durant
Tough Call: Russell Westbook and Jeff Green have been putting up numbers worthy of starting in most formats, but Fantasy owners should make sure to weight their options in cumulative leagues. Westbrook will offer around 45 points, 15 assists and 15 rebounds while Green will offer around 40-45 points, 18-20 rebounds and around 10 assists. Only replace them with a lesser option with more games if you are guaranteed more production. With Wilcox hurt, Collison has been re-inserted into the rotation. He is useful as a stopgap once again at least for the upcoming scoring period considering the four-game week -- especially in leagues where he is eligible at center.
One Week Boom: Russell Westbrook, Jeff Green, Nick Collison

Orlando Magic
Schedule: Dec. 15 at GS; Dec. 18 vs. SA; 20 vs. LAL
Injury Report: Dwight Howard (knee/day-to-day); Mickael Pietrus (thumb/out until late December); Howard left Friday's game in the third quarter, but his injury is not supposed to be serious. Obviously monitor him over the weekend, but it appears he will be a safe play for the upcoming scoring period. Pietrus has not yet returned to practice and is not expected to return this week.
Slam Dunk: Dwight Howard, Rashard Lewis, Hedo Turkoglu
Tough Call: Jameer Nelson is averaging 16.8 points, 6.0 assists and 2.5 rebounds over his last five games and is still a quality play this week even in cumulative formats despite the three-game scoring period. Games against Golden State really should count as a game-and-a-half anyway.
One Week Boom: Jameer Nelson

Philadelphia 76ers
Schedule: Dec. 17 vs. MIL; Dec. 19 at WAS; Dec. 20 vs. IND
Injury Report: Lou Williams (flu/day-to-day); Williams is suffering from a case of food poisoning and is expected to be back soon. He should be available for all three games.
Slam Dunk: Andre Iguodala, Andre Miller, Elton Brand
Tough Call: Samuel Dalembert has become an afterthought in Fantasy this season. He is not bringing down rebounds on a regular basis and is not even blocking many shots on a regular basis. Keep him reserved in all leagues until further notice. Thaddeus Young has been held under 10 points in three of his last four games and is not a recommended option this week outside of deeper average-based leagues.
One Week Bust: Thaddeus Young

Phoenix Suns
Schedule: Dec. 15 vs. NY; Dec. 18 at POR; Dec. 20 vs. DEN
Injury Report: Shaquille O'Neal (personal/day-to-day); Shaq left the team to attend a funeral, but he is expected back for a full week and should be a safe start.
Slam Dunk: Amar'e Stoudemire, Steve Nash, Jason Richardson
Tough Call: Shaq had 35 points and eight rebounds in his last game before leaving the team and is an excellent start for average-based leagues. In larger cumulative leagues, he should start as well. Playing the Knicks is like playing the Warriors and should also be looked as a game-and-a-half. With Jason Richardson's arrival, Leandro Barbosa's Fantasy value takes a little bit of a hit. He had 15 points, though, in his first game with Richardson in the mix and can still be considered a vaiable No. 4 guard in average-based and larger cumulative leagues this week. Matt Barnes and Grant Hill are best left reserved until further notice.
One Week Boom: Shaquille O'Neal

Portland Trail Blazers
Schedule: Dec. 16 vs. SAC; Dec. 18 vs. PHO
Injury Report: Travis Outlaw (tailbone/day-to-day); He has a bone bruise and could be forced to miss another game or two, making him a real injury risk for Week 8.
Slam Dunk: None
Tough Call: With the two-game schedule, even Brandon Roy is a questionable play this week in cumulative formats. However, Roy is absolutely on fire at the moment with three straight 30-plus scoring games and could end up giving Fantasy owners around 50-60 points even in this shortened week to go along with 10-15 assists and 10-15 rebounds. LaMarcus Aldridge has scored at least 20 points in four straight games. Fantasy owners should only replace him if they can be guaranteed more than 40 points, 15 rebounds, and a handful of blocks, assists and steals. No other Blazers player should be considered in cumulative formats, but Greg Oden and Rudy Fernandez have some appeal in larger average-based formats. The matchups against Sacramento (105.7 points against) and Phoenix (102.1 points against) should make for some high-scoring matchups.
One Week Bust: Brandon Roy, LaMarcus Aldridge, Greg Oden

Sacramento Kings
Schedule: Dec. 15 vs. MIN; Dec. 16 at POR; Dec. 19 at HOU; Dec. 20 at NO
Injury Report: Kevin Martin (ankle/day-to-day); Martin is considered a question mark for Monday's game and will be no guarantee to play in Tuesday's game either. That means he could be available for just two games, with those two games being at Houston and New Orleans -- two tough matchups. Consider him a big injury risk.
Slam Dunk: John Salmons
Tough Call: Brad Miller is averaging just 9.0 points and 6.8 rebounds over his last five games, but should still be considered a solid start in cumulative formats as a No. 2 center. He should get going soon. Spencer Hawes is averaging 10.6 points and 8.2 rebounds and should start in any league where he qualifies as center as a No. 2 option this week. With Martin out of the mix, Beno Udrih is riding a nice surge that has him averaging a 15-5-5 line over his last five contests. Get him active in any format. Francisco Garcia appears to be back to full strength after missing the first month-plus of the season with a calf injury. He has scored at least 11 points in his last four games and has played 30-plus minutes in three of his last four. He scored 21 points on Dec. 9 against a tough Lakers defensive team. He should be a nice play once again this format, especially with Martin not around and the team needing an offensive lift off the bench.
One Week Boom: Beno Udrih, Spencer Hawes

San Antonio Spurs
Schedule: Dec. 17 at NO; Dec. 18 at ORL; Dec. 20 vs. TOR
Injury Report: None
Slam Dunk: Tim Duncan, Tony Parker, Manu Ginobili
Tough Call: Matt Bonner has been a very pleasant surprise lately and is averaging 12.4 points and 7.0 rebounds over his last five games. He has scored at least 12 points in four of his last five contests. He isn't yet worth starting as a starter in most cumulative leagues when he is not playing four-game weeks, but he is worth starting in average-based leagues this week. Roger Mason is worth starting in larger cumulative head-to-head formats as a possible double-digit scoring option off the bench.
One Week Boom: Matt Bonner

Toronto Raptors
Schedule: Dec. 15 vs. NJ; Dec. 17 vs. DAL; Dec. 19 at OKC; Dec. 20 at SA
Injury Report: Anthony Parker (abdomen/day-to-day); Parker could return on Sunday against New Orleans. Even if he does, he remains a very low-end starting option for Fantasy purposes.
Slam Dunk: Chris Bosh, Jose Calderon
Tough Call: Jermaine O'Neal is averaging 11.8 points and 5.0 rebounds in seven December games. He should start in leagues where he is eligible at center with cumulative formats, though. He's also a decent play in larger average-based leagues with good matchups against the Nets (103.2 points against) and Thunder (103.3 points again). Andrea Bargnani is coming off a game with 11 points and seven rebounds against the Nets, a team he will play against to begin the week. It is the only game in seven December contests that he has cracked double figures, though. Consider him in leagues where he is eligible at center as a possible No. 2 option, especially where the four games is a factor.
One Week Boom: Jermaine O'Neal, Andrea Bargnani

Utah Jazz
Schedule: Dec. 15 at BOS; Dec. 17 at NJ; Dec. 19 at DET; Det. 20 at CHI
Injury Report: Carlos Boozer (quadriceps/day-to-day); Boozer has been day-to-day for a while now and it sounds like he is getting close to a return. However, it does not sound like Tuesday's game against Boston is anywhere close to a guarantee and Fantasy owners should consider giving him another week to let him prove both healthy and productive again.
Slam Dunk: Deron Williams, Mehmet Okur
Tough Call: With Boozer's situation unclear, Paul Millsap should be considered a bit of a risk. He has been an absolute Fantasy stud in Boozer's absence, but would return to a limited role off the bench when he gets back. However, Tuesday's game seems like a 50-50 situation for Boozer and if he does not return until New Jersey, there could be a situation where the Jazz ease him back into the mix. That would allow Millsap to keep his value a little while longer. Consider him a solid start due to the four-game week and the fact that Boozer is no guarantee to return, but beware of a possible sudden dropoff. Andrei Kirilenko is just not producing enough at the moment to consider starting him outside of leagues of more than 12 teams.
One Week Boom: Paul Millsap

Washington Wizards
Schedule: Dec. 15 vs. IND; Dec. 17 at DET; Dec. 19 vs. PHI; Dec. 21 vs. DAL
Injury Report: Gilbert Arenas (knee/out until January); Arenas is still at least a few weeks away and possibly longer.
Slam Dunk: Caron Butler, Antawn Jamison
Tough Call: Mike James scored 16 points in just his second game with the Wizards after barely playing all season with the Hornets. He is expected to share the role with Juan Dixon for now while Gilbert Arenas remains sidelined. Both players could score in double figures and are worth considering as stopgap options in deeper formats.
One Week Boom: Juan Dixon, Mike James
